RCH is one of BC's largest and most specialized hospitals in the Lower Mainland.

We're currently recruiting for a Director, Clinical Operations (Community & Hospital) - RCH. This strategic position will allow you to be an influential leader while you tap into your creativity, initiative and vision.

You hold accountability to provide leadership and direction on strategies, planning, design, implementation, and assessment of assigned clinical department / service within or across a hospital, health services area, or, for a Regional Program across Fraser Health.

The director will oversee programs / departments / services to support operational leaders, remove barriers to patient transition and foster a culture of patient-centred care across the health care continuum.

Partners with physician, clinical and support leaders in the system design, implementation and sustainability of an integrated clinical program to achieve Fraser Health's priority actions supporting the Fraser Health Strategic Operating Priorities.

Through partnerships within a network of Regional Programs, centralized services, hospital sites and community health service areas you hold a key position including the following responsibilities :

  • Collaborate and communicate program / department / service needs and outcomes
  • Ensure program / department / service operate within approved financial mandate. Review and endorse budgets and financial plans developed by Managers
  • Oversee development of policies supports for integration and standardization of health programs / services, capacity and ensuring a systems perspective
  • Ensure standardization of practice, quality, safety and cost effectiveness support creating integrated patient / client / resident-centered care
  • Represent the program / department / service in the health service community, civic / provincial governments or others
  • Ensure performance management criteria form the basis of metrics for program and individual performance plans
  • Provide leadership to support engagement and respect through support of the well-being and safety of our people through effective feedback, retention strategies, work practices that support work / life balance and the encouragement of personal and professional development.
  • Liaise with Foundation partners enhancing alignment with Foundation and Fraser Health strategic and operational priorities
  • As the successful candidate you have a Master's level of education in a field related to healthcare management, supplemented with seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent related, progressively responsible leadership experience.

    This Permanent Full time position will be based at RCH, located in the city of New Westminster overlooking the Fraser River and is the only hospital in the Lower Mainland that is immediately adjacent to a Skytrain station ( Sapperton ).

    RCH's redevelopment and future expansion plans are underway to meet the demands of a growing population with construction in three phases.
