Key Responsibilities :
Perform field audits and track inspections on Metrolinx owned and operated track.
Administer track construction and rehabilitation for programmed maintenance and expansion
Provides technical expertise to contract and standards development.
Provide technical expertise to develop rehabilitation programs for GO owned corridors.
Establishes, within regulatory guidelines, the priority, inspection frequency, condition audit reporting mechanism, program maintenance and plant renewal implementation.
Provides input to the development of a rail asset management strategy.
Ensures full contractor compliance with agreement terms and conditions governing the delivery of railway corridor engineering services.
Liaises with regulatory entities to ensure full compliance with prevailing safety regulatory policy, best practices, and emerging.
Ensures compliance of third party regulatory inspections and associated maintenance or rehabilitation to rail infrastructure and culverts.
Ensures that appropriate internal and external management control systems are developed and practiced.
Develops and maintains allocated expenses for contracted rail corridor asset management.
Provides input to the budget process for railway corridor asset management.
Monitors the performance of the host railway carriers in terms of track slow orders, program maintenance and plant renewal against Operating Agreement requirements.
Coordinates and leads meetings, establishes agenda, and accommodates team schedules.
Asset inventory development and planning.
Updates and maintains the corporate asset management system for the territories for which they are responsible.

Completion of diploma or trade certification with apprenticeship in a related field or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
Minimum four (4) years of experience in the transportation industry. Experience in a heavy rail environment in North America, is an asset.
Valid, non-probationary G Class Province of Ontario drivers licence. A DZ licence is considered an asset.
Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training as required by corporate policy.
You may be required to work variable hours / shifts to support various work programs and inspection schedules.
Work conditions involve walking through difficult terrain, in various weather conditions
This position may also be required to be on-call and able to respond to incidents at various hours of the day.
