cycle Senior Accountant opportunities in York Region, our client is conveniently located near Highway 7 and Leslie, just off the 404!

  • Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include;
  • Preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliation of worksheets to the general ledger
  • Monthly GST and PST returns, income statement and cash flow preparation
  • Reviewing the trial balance as well as accounts to ensure accuracy and reconciliation
  • Developing and documenting policies, procedures and work flow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Preparing month-end reports as per Canadian GAAP and US GAAP
  • Variance analysis of month-end balance sheet and income statement accounts on changes to the budget and prior year
  • Preparing month-end management reporting, including analytical review comments
  • Analyzing financial information, trend analysis, making recommendations, collecting information and prepare reports on a monthly basis
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including the preparation of required reporting
  • Leading and overseeing the year-end closing process with tax accountants
  • Preparing year-end documents required for the year-end close and tax returns
  • Ad-hoc duties as required by the Team

  • Qualifications

  • University and / or college degree in an Accounting related discipline
  • Professional accounting designation desired or actively pursuing
  • 2+ years’ of Not-for-profit accounting experience
  • CAN GAAP and US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Ability to work well independently or in a Team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • SAP experience an asset but not required
  • Positive, team-player, can-do attitude
