We are looking to hire a Operations Manager at our site located at Montreal.

Your Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, supervision and the proper utilization of manpower, equipment and space for the safe, high-quality and productive delivery of third-party logistics services to the client.

Your Responsibilities

Direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve outlined objectives, organize daily meetings / regular communication to establish clear, ambitious and attainable goals across operations, quality and service, QSHE, profitability, etc.

Develop and direct work plans to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times, including long range planning of labor needs based on customer sales forecasts and Management input.

Together with the Distribution Center Manager, establish and ensure the execution of operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs.

Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and of all warehouse equipment, identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and together with the Distribution Centre Manager implement a lean culture.

Develop, implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property according to company policies and procedures, ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization, and monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Continuously assess, train, coach, mentor and develop personnel both informally and through formal training programs, provide job performance based feedback.

Together with the Site Quality Manager, drive QSHE implementation and compliance.

Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements have met.

Report operational issues and IT issues.

Other responsibilities as assigned in support of the development and execution of the company's Pharmaceutical / Healthcare strategy.

Other duties that maybe assigned.

Your Skills and Experiences

Education

Diploma / Degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred

Professional Experience :

7+ years’ experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehouse environment

5+ years management experience in high volume, fast paced distribution center / warehouse environment

Knowledge Required :

  • Experience in organizing scale labor force for 50+ resources;
  • Knowledge of technical processes related to standard warehouse equipment and applications such as racking, WMS systems and MHE

    Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety and employment standards legislation, and of common workplace hazards and associated controls (Bill C45)

  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (GxP, ISO, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, etc.);
  • Back end manufacturing logistics experience is considered an asset

    Skills Required :

    Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment

    Experience in a pharmaceutical distribution center is considered an asset

    Good understanding of company operations, and cost structures

    Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills

    Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (advanced Excel)

    Ability to work various shifts when required in a 24 / 7 environment
