Reporting to the Director HCM Systems, this role will have primary systems ownership of the People and Payroll Systems. He / she will be responsible for ensuring that these systems are functioning as expected and meeting the end-
users needs. They will provide technical leadership on implementing and maintaining Oracle Cloud / Fusion HCM applications and any relative solution design, business process analysis, and system integration.
They will work with the service provider to ensure that all systems are performing at their expected levels with regular backups and maintenance being successfully completed.
This role will also act as the escalation point of contact as required by the People and At Your Service teams to solve end-user or system issues.
The Sr. Systems Administrator, People and Payroll Systems is a trusted and valued resource for all Chartwell HCM end-users and possesses a superior customer service mindset.
Equally important is his / her strict adherence to IT general controls and Chartwell policies and procedures.
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to :
Acting as the key systems lead responsible for setting technical direction of all People and Payroll Systems and ensuring "best practices" are being followed;
Supporting the end users of our People and Payroll Systems;
Assisting with development, implementation and migration activities;
Researching and resolving functional and technical issues;
Reviewing, troubleshooting, resolving or escalating system errors and issues to the system vendor;
Performing user access and role provisioning related tasks;
Maintaining data integrity in systems through routine data audits and validation;
Participating in or providing supporting data in support of external and internal audits, as required;
Assisting in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs;
Planning, testing and implementation of People and Payroll system upgrades or patches;
Providing support when needed to the Project team during upgrades and enhancements;
Working closely with the service provider, ensure that all systems are kept up-to-date and fully functional
Strict adherence to documentation standards for all incidents;
Strict adherence to all IT general controls, supporting compliance reporting and directly participating in a disciplined incident management framework as it relates to the support of Chartwell's People and Payroll Systems;
Following IT Service Management and Asset Management best practices, following operating procedures, adhering to standards of quality (process and product);
Monitoring and support of a cloud based SaaS systems environment ensuring that backups and disaster recovery activities are maintained;
Developing SOP's and documentation and ensuring existing documentation is up to date and organized;
Participating in rotational standby / on-call duties;
Performing administrative tasks as required;
Staying abreast of emerging technologies;
Handling of escalated tickets from the People and At Your Service teams as required
The ideal candidate will possess :
A minimum of seven (7) years in implementing and supporting Tier 1 Human Capital Management Systems (ie. Oracle, JD Edwards, Peoplesoft) in a SaaS environment;
Experience with Oracle Cloud / Fusion HCM including detailed technical experience in at least one of the HCM modules including : HR core, Benefits, Payroll and compensation.
Experience with the business processes in HCM modules including : Payroll, HR Core, Benefits, Self Service, and Compensation;
Experience working with hourly and union environments a huge advantage.
A minimum of seven years as a contributor in major IS projects;
A minimum of three years of experience managing people;
Demonstrated experience providing end-user business process and functional how-to support of Human Capital Management systems;
Strong understanding of Human Capital Management processes;
Experience in the retirement residences industry is an asset;
Post-Secondary Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Payroll / HR;
ITIL certification or applied knowledge an asset;
Strong team player;
Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks;
Good verbal and written communicator;
Good people-management skills;
Ability to work with various stakeholders;
Excellent creative and analytical skills;
Well-developed organization skills;
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;

Bilingualism (English / Functional French) is an asset;
Availability to work non-standard hours, and be flexible concerning workdays;
Irregular work hours required during peak deliverable periods;
Willingness to perform standby / on-call duties in support of 7 / 24 coverage.
