As a Helpdesk team, we provide a single (or multiple) point of contact for our colleagues to gain assistance in troubleshooting computer related problems, get answers to questions and solve known problems.

We provide 24 / 7 support and always make sure our colleagues get the assistance they need to be productive. Our team contributes to Proofpoint’s success.

As an intern on our team, you’ll have the chance to

  • Provide first level Help Desk support to employees for applications, equipment, and voice and data systems.
  • Interact with hardware and software vendors on an ongoing basis for repair and problem resolution.
  • Author appropriate documentation and procedures relating to equipment operations, software changes, maintenance and problems encountered, with periodic review to insure they are current.
  • Assist with major system upgrades as needed.
  • Perform new hardware installation and upgrades.
  • Build, reconfigure, maintain, and repair windows / Apple systems (desktops and laptops) for employee use.
  • Perform moves / lifting / adds / changes to equipment (computer hardware and cables).
  • Provide technical support and customer service via live chat, walkup station, email, phone and onsite.
  • Working with other members of the IT organization to ensure timely resolution of employee issues.
  • Organize IT storage and assist in managing IT inventories.
  • Undertake other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Your Current Super-Skills

  • Customer service oriented
  • Fast learner
  • Familiar with Macs and Windows platforms
  • Familiar with basic troubleshooting on Macs and Windows platforms
  • Familiar with Microsoft office suite
  • Team oriented and able to adapt changes
  • Have effective interpersonal skills to communicate with organization staff and department managers to accomplish goals for productivity and organization wide quality of service

    You have the ability and interest in working 40 hours / week at maximum onsite in our Toronto office. You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.

    0 or higher. This internship is scheduled to begin immediately and end on approximately August 28, 2020.
