The Supplier Quality Specialist will report to the Manager, Quality Management. As a member of the quality team the successful candidate will interface with peers and suppliers in order to prevent problems by leading initiatives inclusive of but not limited to early supplier engagement in new product development, supplier evaluation & on-boarding, establishing supplier performance evaluation parameters, assessment of supplier process capability and lead continuous improvement efforts for NPI and sustaining product quality improvement of mechanical components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supplier evaluation & on-boarding for responsible mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Resolve quality issues of purchased parts in a timely manner as well as to meet goals & objectives
  • Support NC material review and disposition making decision processes
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; deliver effective solutions to quality issues
  • Manage, track and trend supplier corrective action processes
  • Working collaboratively with suppliers and engineering in order to produce both cost effective and high quality products.
  • Collect and analyze data : identify trends, escalate undesirable conditions
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality scorecard performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead the continuous development of supplier quality process capabilities
  • Qualifications :

  • Degree in an associated Mechanical Engineering discipline or Materials in a related discipline.
  • Practical experience in auditing metal suppliers and processes (especially invar material parts fabrication, welding, heat treatment etc. processes).
  • Minimum five years of supplier quality management experience.
  • Strong team player, flexible, self-motivated, with positive outlook and high energy
  • Experience working in cross functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate appropriately to all corporate levels
  • Excellent oral, written communication, presentation skills and ability to prioritize conflicting demands
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate the effects of change
  • Inherit commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Coordination and management of specific quality project deliverables accrediting able to production launch and ramp-up capacities
  • She / he will also review mechanical drawings and specifications in order to assure compliance to established standards.
  • Experience with MRP / ERP Systems, including detailed knowledge and experience working in SAP.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • College or University degree in supply chain / procurement, business, operations, engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
