Job Description :

Develop and implement strategic operational plans for Ontario and objectives aligned to the short and long term goals of the organization.

Geographically support Marketing and Sales through the development and execution of supply chain management encompassing all activities for the delivery of FG’s through the leadership, management and execution of wine making and concentrates, quality, productivity, maintenance warehousing & distribution and raw material procurement.

Responsible for FG inventory management, production planning, engineering, costing / budgeting, health & safety, environment, human resource activities and building services.

Accountable for financial budgets for estate wineries and viticulture and provides effective leadership that drives team engagement.

What you will be doing :

Planning & Execution

  • Lead, develop and execute all activities of supply chain inclusive of planning, wine-making, operations, raw materials packaging buying, logistics and warehousing at one or more sites based on forecast.
  • Develops and executes a departmental budget that will strategically leverage diverse resources, prioritize and support real time operation and long-term productivity, quality and efficiency goals.
  • Develop and directs operations policies consistent with company or divisional policies to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible and accountable for inventory in the form of bulk wines, raw materials and finished goods and all co-packaging activities and packaging off site.
  • Oversight for building services and maintenance.
  • Accountable for and oversees viticulture and estate winery budgets and financial metrics · Coordination with other regional Operations leaders in all planning matters
  • Assists with the development and operation of an entirely new and explosive growth DTC business · Works with peers and direct boss on any M&A and synergy targets
  • People Leadership

  • Develop and sustain a high-performance workforce through the execution of various HR programs including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement & development, employee and labor relations.
  • Works closely with peers in other markets for talent movement.

    Continuous Improvement

  • Directs long-range strategic, capacity and capital planning based on business strategic needs.
  • Responsible for production standards and the development and adherence of safety and quality programs (ISO 9001 : 2000 and HACCP).
  • Works with other regions to move best practices around and created a learning environment that encourages and rewards sharing.
  • Collaboration

  • Interact with vendors to exploit technology, purchase equipment and services and resolve long term equipment, training and process issues.
  • Builds working relationships with peers in achieving and maintaining the accuracy and consistent flow of information, execution of procedures, and performance of the overall operations.
  • Liaise with sales and marketing in the development of new products and accountable to the production and delivery of all NPD’s
  • Represents the Company in the community and promotes the goodwill and interest in community activities.
  • Leads grape purchasing in Ontario
  • What you will bring :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Biology / Chemistry or Business / Oenology
  • 9-10 years experience in a large scale manufacturing facility
  • 6-8 years experience in planning, business management and finance
  • 6-8 years leadership experience ·
  • Minimum 6-8 years experience in human resource management including supervision, performance management, recruitment, labour relations & negotiations and labour legislation.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience
  • Advanced capabilities in planning, organizing and controlling a complex dynamic and highly technical operation
  • Advanced capabilities in project management.
  • Advanced competence in quality management
  • Intermediate knowledge of LEAN, SIX SIGMA, continuous improvement methodologies
  • Intermediate understanding of food, beverage or pharmaceutical, hi-tech industry
  • Intermediate competency in negotiations
  • Intermediate skill set in contract management
  • Intermediate competency in MRP / MPS / DRP
