Purpose :

To contribute to the overall success of the Montreal Global Fixed Income and Derivatives Department and to cover the universe of credit and rate accounts as a specialist salesperson.

Also for the purpose of distributing new issues and to enhance secondary trading opportunities.

Responsibilities :

Maximize revenue and provide timely feedback to the traders on any significant client portfolio shifts or trades

Help grow our Government Finance and Debt Capital Markets businesses

Increase trade volumes and leverage client relationships

In depth coverage and ensuring the appropriate levels of client management

Create a daily view of the market and share with others on the team

Emphasis on marketing internal partners and other business units to clients to continue to enhance trade and business

Responsible for gaining a better understanding of their clients in an effort to build business and stronger client / dealer relationships

Ensuring compliance in all business and understanding of new systems

Assist with monitoring and overseeing any sales trading errors that occur on the desk

Focus on high performance coverage of accounts, leveraging relationships with a consistent approach to delivering optimal partnership

Focus on Customer solutions and servicing

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Work Experience :

Minimum of 5 years of experience in FICC sales or capital markets / treasury

Fluency in English and French is required

Proven record of client relationship management skills

Previous success in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Very strong business development and marketing skills with sales experience in the Financial Services industry

In-depth knowledge of Fixed Income and OTC Derivatives

Experience with Fixed Income related systems including : Bloomberg, Markitwired

Excellent presentation and communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of an audience and explaining capital market ideas

Strong team player able to collaborate with internal groups in achieving cross sell objectives and franchise growth

Proven knowledge of the Quebec Client base

Portfolio management experience encouraged

Education :

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or any relevant field

MBA and / or CFA designation

Working Conditions :

Fast-paced, ever changing environment where teamwork and a collaborative mentality is essential

Ability to multi-task, adapt to change and manage time effectively

Accuracy, timely processing and attention to detail is critical

Ability to work extended hours, where a typical day is from 7am to 5pm EST
