Position Overview

Autodesk is hiring! We are looking for an experienced technical lead who can manage a group of highly skilled individuals on the 3ds Max team.

This role requires someone with strong technical & leadership skills who is hands-on and experienced in the operations of delivering professional software.

We are looking for an individual with strong organization and communication skills who can succeed at both leading technical projects and people management.

You will spend your time leading our Operation (OPS) team, serve as the internal / external communication liaison, as well as the technical lead.

You will be expected to contribute to the execution as well as the strategic planning direction for that team. You will work in collaboration with 3ds Max leadership to evaluate & recommend tools & technologies that will accelerate the development, testing and deployment of the product.

Your team is responsible for ensuring the 3ds Max engineering team is operating efficiently while looking for ways to optimize and modernize the tools and process used to build and deliver 3ds Max.

This is the ideal role for you if have an interest in management while still working hands-on on technical solutions.

You will be responsible for guiding employees on their development plans, coach each member of your team and lead 1-1s. Proactively engage the wider team of domain experts and agile partners to understand how each team member is performing, and to lead them to individual success.

Closely collaborate with counterparts, architects and multiple functional groups across the company to achieve shared goals.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on role with product operations
  • Troubleshooting systems and code
  • Implement, monitor and investigate reliability & performance of environment using dashboards and tools
  • Coordinate technical investigations to determine the feasibility of requested enhancements
  • Communicate the status of projects to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the extended team of software developers to identify and track requirements on improving overall efficiency
  • Create the tools, techniques and infrastructure to provide a first-class pipeline supporting the release and quality goals of the product
  • Be curious, data driven, eager to make a difference
  • Recruit, develop and manage a multi-disciplinary team
  • Work with team members to establish career development plans
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid expertise in Python or similar scripting language
  • Git / GitHub expertise
  • BS degree in software engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile-based development environment
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Experience with building, maintaining CI / CD pipelines using modern deployment methodologies
  • Artifact and package management systems experience (e.g. Artifactory, NuGet, Conan)
  • Orchestration tools experience (e.g. Jenkins, Electric Flow)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Build system expertise (e.g. MS Build, CMake)
  • Experience in delivering professional software solutions and services
