Who we are

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is a department of the Yukon government that provides human resource advice and support services to other departments and employees, acts as the employer on behalf of the government and establishes and maintains human resource legislation, policies and collective agreements.

PSC coordinates the majority of internal corporate communications within the Yukon government.

The People Metrics, Analytics and Projects (PMAP) branch was recently created within the People and Culture Division of the Public Service Commission.

The PMAP branch is responsible for providing senior leadership with actionable HR metrics, analytics and key performance indicators as well as delivering metrics and analytics related projects for example a government wide metrics dashboard.

The opportunity

As the Metrics and Systems Architect you will be responsible for all the technical design and operational tasks of the PMAP branch.

As PMAP projects and the metrics proceed through the lifecycle, you will provide technical solutions for the projects.

You will provide technical, functional and management support to the PMAP branch. This includes end user support, troubleshooting and analyzing problems and issues, designing solutions with the technical team, arranging and overseeing testing and validation, developing documentation and implementing test plans.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, information technology, math or physics, engineering or related field;
  • Considerable experience working in systems development projects and teams through all lifecycles;
  • Considerable experience developing SQL queries in a relational database environment (preferably Oracle);
  • Experience in architecting, designing and programming of complex software systems;
  • Experience with Jira, SharePoint and agile software development processes is an asset;
  • Experience in metrics or statistics is an asset.
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience to the essential qualifications may be equally considered.
