JOB TITLE : COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER

FPS Therapy & Support Services (FPS) is seeking a full-time Support Worker to join their team to provide practical life skill training, mentoring, support, crisis intervention and risk management services to clients in treatment at their practice.
Clients include adults, youth and special need populations, all of whom have been or are at risk of being in conflict with the law.
This position is for a term of a minimum of one (1) year to cover a maternity leave and has the potential to transition to a permanent position.
The successful candidate for this position will :
Candidates will be required to complete a criminal record and child abuse registry check and must be approved to work with a vulnerable population.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, are assets. Salary will be commensurate with academic background and experience.
They encourage applicants who have in-depth knowledge of First Nations culture, traditional teachings and Indigenous healing processes and who have had exposure to and / or participated in traditional ceremonies to apply and to identify this in your cover letter and resume.
Community Support Workers with this knowledge and experience will have the opportunity to work both as a support worker and as a support worker within the Traditional Healing Program for First Nations clients.
