We are seeking experienced Team Lead's for Fort McKay Strategic Services LP. The Team Lead's will report to the Mine Operations Manager or Designate, the Team Lead's are accountable for supervising the mine operations in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.

Key focuses :

  • Train, supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the workers
  • Ability to provide input and implement policies and procedures
  • Be familiar and enforce the LPS rules and responsibilities
  • Resolve workplace issues and recommend improvements to the Mine Operations Manager
  • Prepare various reports (i.e. production reports, LEM's)
  • Strong record keeping and reporting skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, plan ahead, set and reset priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay
  • Ability to minimize and resolve workplace conflict
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills
  • Responsible and Accountable for enforcing the company and client policy and procedures
  • Respond to and rectify safety related concerns
  • 6 & 6 schedule; three (3) days, three (3) nights and six (6) off
  • Experience and Education :

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current training in behavior based HSE principles, Leadership, Mine Planning and Scheduling
  • Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS and OSSA or BSO) is required
  • Minimum of one (1) year in supervisory / leadership capacity
  • LPS experience is required
  • ACSA and AMSA certification is an asset
  • Heavy Hauler, Excavator, Dozer, Loader and Grader experience is required
  • Ability to follow construction designs is required
  • Familiarity with Construction Mythology and Surveying is essential.
  • Current valid Class five (5) drivers license or better with clean driving abstract
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and the Internet comfortably
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • These are permanent full-time position located on the Syncrude Site, north of Fort McMurray, AB.

    NOTE : Camp accommodation is NOT provided.
