The Community & Recreation Facilities Branch of Citizen Services is seeking an enthusiastic DANCEPL3Y Instructor to lead classes in our facilities focused on developing positive attitudes towards being active.

Specific job duties include :

  • Lead and develop programs for children
  • Create lesson plans for registered, school and drop in programs
  • Create a safe, positive environment where children and parents can learn to be active
  • Develop and implement program plans and activities that are adaptable and inclusive for children of all fitness levels and developmental stages
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons within our recreation facilities
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • Completion of DANCEPL3Y Certification
  • Completion of DANCEPL3Y Pre-school Certification is an asset
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED Certifications
  • Completion of High Five Certification is an asset
  • Completion of Group Instructor Certification is an asset
  • Experience instructing small and large groups
  • Experience instructing classes to children and families
  • Enthusiasm and energy to get children motivated and moving
  • Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
