Architect and maintain Application Performance Monitoring solution packages that track and monitor key performance indicators and business impacts of applications for our clients.

Enable delivery of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) services as part of the Softchoice Keystone MSP Services portfolio.

You will be asked to find innovative ways to enhance both customer experience and operational efficiency through technology solutions.

As a member of the Cloud Platforms and Services team you will join a team that operates in a growing and fast-paced environment, and is comprised of hands on, technical individuals, who are also looked to for thought leadership in cloud and applications technology space.

As our APM System Administrator, you’ll be responsible for :

  • Utilizing best in class APM tools, integrate and maintain custom performance and operational monitoring of client applications to ensure scalability and allow swift diagnosis and resolution of service degradation or disruption.
  • Diagnosing and resolving APM technical issues from both internal and external customers.
  • Documenting processes and procedures relating to deployment, monitoring, and administration of APM to client managed clouds and application stacks.
  • Collaborating to integrate APM tooling deployment processes into service automation and ticketing systems.
  • Working cross-functionally to support the development and launch of new service offerings based on APM technologies, services, and concepts.
  • Acting as primary contact between front line operators and APM tool vendors; working with vendors to resolve tool issues.
  • Be a strong contributor to the Softchoice Multi-Cloud strategy and solutioning for all major Clouds.
  • As our ideal candidate, you will have :

  • 3+ years of professional experience, with proven track record of managing highly scalable and robust large-scale distributed infrastructure.
  • Direct experience implementing APM commercial and open source software tooling into applications that include scaling web applications and microservices, apps using container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and other cloud native technologies.
  • Experience discovering the KPIs and Reporting needs of a business application and implementing monitoring, reporting, and alerting on large production systems.
  • Experience building and managing application and infrastructure services on Azure, GCP and AWS
  • Experience supporting production systems, maintaining high availability and responding swiftly to issues through use of tools such as New Relic, Data Dog, AppDynamics and or others.
  • Experience with CI / CD practices, using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker.
  • Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems with user level experience in others
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g. Linux shell scripting, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring database technologies (MYSQL, MS SQL, and Oracle) is required.
  • Solid understating of Azure Functions and Logic Apps.
  • Hands on experience in New Relic Development & Administration will be rewarded.
  • Experience working in agile operational teams with agile based methodologies.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen that supports the discovery and analysis of the business impacts of client applications.
  • Strong problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Drive to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in our systems and propose solutions.
  • Self-interest to keep up to date with technology and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate closely with team members, while maintaining a strong working relationship based on communication, respect, and trust.
  • Positive attitude with creative thinking and willingness to attempt wide variety of tasks.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related experience.
