We are currently looking for a Retail Programs Manager at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

This individual is responsible for the reporting and planning processes related to Sales Incentives and to ensure strict adherence to the VW Brand Sales Incentive budget.

The Retail Programs Manager is the key contact for program development, discussion and to secure necessary approvals in order to launch sales programs and is responsible for the creation, publication and maintenance of all sales bulletins and support files provided to VW Canada staff, dealers and VW Finance

Main responsibilities would include researching market trends and forecasts in order to provide Sales & Controlling with data, research and direction relating to the development of all new vehicle incentives.

This includes, but not limited to, the maintenance of the incentive budget, creation and management of competitive data and market research, completion of monthly segment shares and inventory analysis, competitive sales support trends as well as ad-hoc sales scenario calculations.

The role is central in determining the competitive position of VW incentive offers versus the competition. This role requires continuous interaction with Field, Controllers, VW Finance, third party vendors, senior management to disseminate market and costing information crucial to making incentive budget and sales program decisions that allow VW Canada to achieve their sales volume and market share targets.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Monitor new vehicles sales incentive budget to ensure approved budget Cost Per Unit (CPU) is maintained
  • Recommend direction of new vehicle sales programs to meet and achieve VW Canada’s volume / share objectives and stay within spend guidelines established by Controlling
  • Analyze market conditions and competitive positions, past VW programs and understand competitive trends and incentive actions by model year;
  • effectiveness of competitor incentive campaigns; and prepare detailed cost comparisons for proposed programs vs. past programs and budget

  • Develop and distribute new car sales programs and associated monthly bulletins / program matrix / updating online programs portal (AOP)
  • Identify opportunities and risks for sales and incentives though detailed analysis and understanding of competitive market conditions, understanding of current and forecast inventory positions and understanding of cost requirements for proposed actions
  • Maintain New Vehicle Incentive Spend Forecast by updating forecast file with all variable inputs including developing reliable estimates for sales channel mix, average capital costs and term mix to ensure accuracy of financial analysis and planned spend.
  • Develop and continually enhance efficiency of reporting, presentation and reporting templates
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for competitive sets
  • Calculate monthly lease and finance indexes (promo indexes)
  • Prepare monthly Incentives Reporting package and present to Senior Leadership on current trends and future proposals
  • Develop regional plans to capitalize and sales and market share in sales regions and optimize the incentive budget
  • Develop what if scenarios for incentive requirements for various volume scenarios
  • Assist the Manager, Incentives Planning to make recommendations for new vehicle sales programs to VW Management and Controlling
  • Process dealer claims and inquiries related to incentive payments and exceptions
  • Work with Marketing to ensure incentive programs are effectively integrated into all retail advertising &
  • Liaise with VCCI for reports, analysis and any other requirements
  • Qualifications

    What we’re asking for :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business
  • Should have +3 years’ experience in financial analysis related jobs / fields
  • Must be able to read, understand are articulate findings from large financial data dumps
  • Ability to manage the incentive budget within given parameters and detailed explanation with all facts / figures supporting the analysis and recommendations
  • Demonstrate experience in process improvement
  • Should have advanced MS Excel knowledge / skills
  • Attention to detail is of paramount importance
  • Should be able to present findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to work with different teams on the same timelines / projects
  • Project management and process improvement
  • Experience within Automotive (corporate / retail) is preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive financing channels is preferred
  • Written and Verbal French language is preferred
  • Focus on process optimization and improvement
  • Must be flexible with overtime
