We are looking for a dynamic “Area Sales Manager” to join our ambitious team and innovative company: Quebec’s Local Flagship and World Leader for Packaging Equipment. Alongside other countries, you will be managing the world’s second largest market in the Carton Packaging industry of the Western hemisphere: Germany. Given the nature of the position, IMPACK is looking for a candidate that can fluently speak and write in German. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible of all existing accounts within the German speaking territory, and more importantly, you will be tasked with leading initiatives that drive new business to IMPACK. This includes creating and fostering relationships with our existing and potential clients as well as, with our partners in the industry.

Typical Weekly Duties for an Area Sales Manager:

  • Building and foster strong relationships with our clientele through video conference meetings, calls, and on-site visits.

  • Business trips to Europe (and the rest of the world - if needed) to visit production plants of clients and maintain strong relationships with our partners. Note: his activity is on hold until the pandemic can allow easy and secure international travel.

  • Educate and consult clients through IMPACK’s revenue-generating sales process.

  • Project analysis to define the best solution for each client’s unique and varying needs.

  • Prepare project pricing and proposal.

  • Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, range from small-sized businesses to the worlds largest packaging producers. Project values from $50,000 CAD to over $2 Million CAD.

  • Build industry-relevant network and promote IMPACK through social media.

  • Present IMPACK’s solutions at industry events and expositions (post-pandemic).

  • Help to develop and optimize IMPACK’s sales process with relevant sales-enablement content and optimized website interactions.

  • How Success Will be Measured:

    The Area Sales Manager’s performance will be evaluated based on the continuous improvement of clientele nurturing through exceptional customer relationship management, increasing prospect acquisition and improving clientele retention.

    Specific measurements of this criteria include:

  • Growth of customer database.

  • Sales cycle acceleration.

  • An increase in defined customer engagement metrics (i.e. conversions, submissions, etc.)

  • Continuous growth of annual revenue.

  • Social media positive sentiment metrics.

  • Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, International Business or similar.

    Required Skills:

    The Area Sales Manager’s role requires a combination of managerial skills and having a teaching-mindset leading at all times with a “customer first” mentality.

    In essence, the area sales manager is the company’s ambassador that represents IMPACK’s culture and should be empathetic toward the pain points, fears, and concerns of the client.

    Specific skills required:

  • Impeccable communication skills with an outstanding command of the German and English language. Any additional language is of great value.

  • Clear articulation of the business goals behind the solution proposed to client.

  • The ability to think like a teacher, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how/when they want to consume it.

  • Easily adaptable to many different cultures when traveling for business.

  • A passion for new technology tools and usage of those tools within your sales process and social media outreach.

  • Very familiar with daily working tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and wants to learn HubSpot (CRM and Marketing Automation Software).

  • Project management skills to manage process improvements and deadlines within corporate and ongoing projects.

  • Familiarity with principles of contract terms and profitability calculations.

  • Strong ability and willingness to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
