Our client, a top tier law firm located in the north west of Toronto is in need of a Legal Assistant to join its team.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepares documentation for commercial and residential purchase, sale and financing transactions (both lender and borrower-side) where lands are slated for redevelopment or commercial properties Prepares reporting letters and accounts to clients Enters data and deposits in the required database and programs Directly communicates with clients and other lawyer’s offices Prepares client correspondence relating to transactions Ensures the complete and accurate filing (hard copy and electronic copy) of all legal documents
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following :
A post-secondary diploma in a related Legal Administration and / or Law Clerk program or equivalent years of experience 6 months to 5 years of experience in a similar position in a Commercial or Residential Real Estate Law practice Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Conveyancer, PC Law and Teraview Excellent organization and time-management skills Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently on multiple files with strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates a professional demeanour, high ethical standards, respect and commitment to service excellence.
