The director Technology Delivery & Sustainability ensures that infrastructure / technology lifecycle management and change management services delivered by vendors are aligned with SNCL business requirements and compliant with the applicable contractual agreements.
This position reports to the Vice-President, IT Service Delivery, Infrastructure Management and Strategic Partnership.
Governs vendor technology delivery & sustainability of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the company ;
Leads the development of the technology strategy and roadmap, and ensures its integration;
Drives the roadmap to streamline, standardize, and strengthen performance, reliability, robustness and scalability of the IT technology across the company;
Works with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that the IT technology enables necessary applications and business processes;
Ensures that IT technology maintenance activities are defined, performed and delivered according to the annual lifecycle plan;
In collaboration with vendor, reviews capacity metrics and performance monitoring results and recommends capacity upgrade initiatives or improvements action plans as required;
Builds and maintains relationships with vendor to ensure cost-effective technology solutions are in place to meet business needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities;
Develops and controls the technology delivery & sustainability annual operating and capital expenditure budget;
Leverages influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals;
Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired business goals;
Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms, and provides direction on what emerging technologies should be introduced, integrated and assimilated within I&O;
Participates in the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure I&O delivers value to the enterprise;
Reviews disaster recovery annual test plan and coordinate execution with security and business continuity stakeholders;
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, where colleagues are encouraged and recognized for generating and implementing innovative ideas;
Develops and mentors the IT team to augment the talent and skills in the organization and to flex staff and skill sets when needed in high-demand periods;
Fosters a coaching and mentoring culture within IT ensuring people leaders in the department are willing and available to support their staff;
Focus on management succession planning, to make sure capable people are identified and are exchanging critical information to handle work effectively in the future.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or equivalent);
10-12 yrs relevant experience, with at least 5 years in an outsourced IT model and 5 yrs in IT Infrastructure Mgt;
5 yrs experience in a managerial role.

Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision;
High level of commitment and flexibility, poise, communication;
Ability to interact with all levels, influence senior managers and be equally comfortable with senior management in cross-functional efforts;
Advanced program & process management, meeting facilitation, written / oral communication and presentation skills;
Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be respected as a leader
