What you can expect in a typical day
The Market Intelligence Analyst is key role within our Planning and Market Intelligence, that acts as a strategic partner within our business.
The role is focused on identifying and translating research data into information that may impact our company’s day-to-day business and long-term strategic growth.
Working with the business, you’ll be responsible to provide analysis, insight, and information on markets, competitors, customers, and new business opportunities across all areas of the company, for it be leveraged to support business decisions, growth and our annual business planning process.
What you’ll need to succeed
Lead research, market and industry analysis on historical and future trends in supply, demand, trade flows (import / exports), regulations and socio / economic factors.
Lead the completion of research, analysis and trends on the performance of our competitors and our respective competitive position.
Lead the research and analysis to understand historical and future trends in consumer behaviours and related impact on our business’ earnings growth.
Lead in the development of external market scans for each business and corporate center across the company as part of the annual business planning and enterprise risk management process.
Economic modeling for forecasting of macroeconomic data in order to understand and implement value drivers in projects and planning.
Coordinate formal assumption reviews and signoffs and compiling the assumption documents used in Business Planning and business case analysis.
Contribute to the assessment of short and long-term business strategies, issues and opportunities to support earnings growth.
Adhere to research methodologies, database management systems, and contribute to the design of standard and ad hoc reporting.
Presentation preparation for meetings with stakeholders across the company to ensure a fact-based, market / customer back decision making process.
Occasional facilitation of meetings will be required.
Respond to ad hoc requests, projects, and other activities as required to support the company.
Action oriented with ability to meet deadlines and prioritize time sensitive deliverables.
Manage multiple long term projects while simultaneously completing shorter term data and analysis requests.
Must have strong analytical skills.
Must have experience with business case and financial analysis
Ability to provide recommendations and advice and related decisions, often with imperfect information and / or limited consultation.
Must have strong presentation skills to engage the business and senior leaders across the company
Must work well in a team environment; possess high level of relationship, collaboration and facilitation skills with ability to work with multiple teams at various levels of the organization
Must be a driven self-starter, working proactively with limited direction and supervision.
Excellent communicator in a wide variety of formats, written, oral, and presentation.
Exceptional computer skills required including knowledge of database management systems and versed in Microsoft Office Suite-Excel, Access, Outlook, and Power Point, and Windows XP.
Travel is not a requirement for this position
Education and experience
MBA is preferred.
Degree in business, economics, engineering or accounting math-oriented discipline (e.g., mathematics, engineering) is required.
5+ years of business analytics across a range of applications and methodologies is required.
5+ years of practical business / operations experience is required.
Experience in research methods and both qualitative and quantitative analysis
Solid business and financial acumen and awareness of many functional disciplines is critical
