Job Description

The Sutton Place Hotel Edmonton has over 310 guest rooms and suites, approximately 16,000 sq. ft. of meeting / event space, and is one of the most convenient locations in downtown Edmonton.

We are situated in the heart of downtown and immediately adjacent to the brand new ICE District, combines the perfect location, convenience, and modern renovated guestrooms all into one.

Connected by an indoor Pedway to Edmonton City Centre Mall, major office towers, 400 stores, and the Light Rail Transit (LRT), the hotel is an easy 10-minute walk to Rogers Place, the new home of the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Convention Centre, Sir Winston Churchill Square, Citadel Theatre, Edmonton Art Gallery of Alberta, and Winspear Centre for the Performing Arts.

We are currently seeking candidates for the following position : Houseperson JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • No education or experience required, we will train one on one
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Good communication skills are an asset
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Professional appearance and manners
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • DUTIES :

  • Sweeping, mopping, waxing / washing floors, dusting furniture, making beds, changing sheets / towels, stocking linen closets and supplies area,
  • Attend to guest needs / requests for extra supplies, cleaning and disinfecting public areas such as changing rooms, showers and pool area, washing windows / walls / ceilings, picking up debris, and empty trash containers.
  • Weeding / Mowing / Hedge Trimming
  • Leaf Clean up
  • Planting / Edging
  • Power washing
  • Assist housekeepers when required.
  • Assist moving furniture, storage boxes, etc.
  • Ensures all maintenance and safety hazards are promptly reported to the Supervisor / Manager to minimize hazard risk
  • Takes personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times
  • Maintains an up to date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and the correct handling procedures
  • Reports any unusual or suspicious persons / activities happening in the area of security to the manager
  • Reports any maintenance issues including burned out light bulbs
  • APPLICABLE SKILLS :

  • Excellent customer relations.
  • Must have time-management skills.
  • Adaptable to change and be able to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Eager and focused to exceed guest expectations.
