The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) leads and drives HR projects to improve the full service offering of the HR team.
They work as a strategic business partner with our Business leaders and drive initiatives that impact employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, organizational change, talent management, diversity and inclusion, performance, and culture.
As a trusted advisor, the HRBP provides coaching and counsel to front-line managers on human resources solutions that contribute to the goals of the business unit and support a high performing and engaged working environment.
The HRBP will develop, implement or improve existing HR programs to ensure Points has the best HR practices
In this newly created role at Points, you will have the opportunity to :
Oversee and implement human resources programs and practices that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness that align with business strategies in areas including talent management, compensation, learning and development, and performance management
Drive employee retention and engagement through supporting the Annual Performance Review and development plan process and staff professional development programs.
Work closely with business leaders to operationalize HR strategies and initiatives that promote employee satisfaction and are aligned with business objectives.
Support front-line managers in solving Employee Relations issues through effective coaching, problem solving and ensuring adherence to appropriate employment laws and policies
Manage training and development for employees. Supports organizational training needs and implements training courses that satisfy these needs.
Identifies and contracts with external training consultants as needed.
Responsible for supporting and informing employees about Leaves Mat Leaves & Top Up, Pat Leaves, YOLO, Family / Compassionate Care, Leave of Absences.
Support Talent Acquisition team by coaching leaders with new hire requisitions and support the internal application processes.
Support department action plans from insights from employee surveys.
Overseeing HR policy creation and compliance to employment laws and regulations
Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and generating reports for analysis.
8+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or similar HR role
University degree in Human Resources or related field plus CHRP designation.
Applied knowledge of local labour laws and statutes for employment across Canada provinces with thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, practices and standards.
Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and decision making skills, ability to approach problems from a solution-oriented standpoint with tact and sensitivity.
Experience creating or implementing best practice HR programs : performance management, onboarding, leadership development.
Solid project management skills and effective time management / prioritization skills.
Excellent relationship-building skills, passion for customer service.
Demonstrated experience in organizational development and change management
Resourceful and self-motivated with ability to work in changing environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience
Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management through complex and difficult issues
Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams
Experienced in working with Technical (Software Engineering) and Non-Technical employee groups
