Reporting directly to the on-site supervisor, the Mailroom Clerk manages mail on a daily basis, which includes receiving, sorting and delivering mail.
The mailroom clerk is well organized, has strong administrative skills, computer literacy and working knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
The Mailroom Clerk also has good communication skills, both written and verbal in French and English and feels comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Please note : The successful candidate will be required to act as backfill for absences on occasion at the switchboard and answer incoming telephone calls.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Receive and sort internal and external mail;
Distribute internal and external mail to the appropriate recipients according to the distribution list and established schedule;
Keep a register of incoming packages;
Ensure the delivery of outgoing mail by courier or by mail;
Provide support in the collection and packaging of promotional material;
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for the mailroom;
Maintain the distribution list;
Arrange for internal transport services to deliver packages;
Replenish Employee Service Center forms at all sites;
Maintain the mailroom to standards;
Respond to telephone inquiries in a timely manner;
Maintains a positive relationship with internal and external contacts;
Follows established procedures;
Performs other administrative tasks as needed;
Responds to various requests in a timely and positive manner;
Follow company policies and procedures relating to environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
Must own a car
1 year experience
Knowledge of UPS and postal systems is considered an asset
Excellent oral and written communication in French and English;
Strong organizational skills;
Friendly customer service skills;
Flexible, adaptable and able to work in a professional manner in any situation.
