Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the IaaS global, cloud computing leader. In order to continue to scale our fast-growing recruiting operations, we are seeking a talented Recruiting Manager with strong business partnering and people development skills to lead our Canadian hiring efforts.

This Recruiting Leader will manage a technical recruiting team and partner closely with business leadership to build and execute against Talent Acquisition strategies to deliver the necessary talent to support our increasing customer demand and changing market conditions.

This is a highly impactful role within our AWS business as we continue our pursuit of being the most customer-centric company on the planet.

The right leadership candidate must be able to effectively provide thought leadership, set benchmarks, analyze data / metrics, and understand how to prioritize to hit all customer SLAs.

This leader will draw on extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners across multiple North America locations.

Core Responsibilities : Drive sourcing capability and capacity across a geographically dispersed team within North America to proactively build diverse candidate pools while leveraging all available talent channels to expedite the recruitment of market-

leading technical talent for AWS.Work closely with business leaders and other Recruiting Managers to influence and deliver quality assessment and high touch candidate experience through all aspects of the recruitment funnel.

Inform global teams on sourcing best practices around the Sales function and to help those team deliver the right results for the business to achieve their talent demand goals each year.

  • Partner with key stakeholders (Business Leaders, Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners) to determine future talent needs and set and drive enabling sourcing strategies;
  • this requires a deep understanding through extensive market research of the channels (both domestic North America and internationally) where we can find the best, diverse talent who fit our technical and cultural demands.

    Build engage, manage and develop a team of high-performing recruiting staff in an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

    Set team performance goals and metrics, timelines and a formal tracking process to measure and manage progress.Develop and execute to plans to identify and drive productivity improvements that enable the team to deliver to hiring goals without having to scale deployed resources at a rate faster than the business is growingPeriodically lead and / or participate in cross-

  • Periodically lead and / or participate in cross-business / cross-company special projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition
  • Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience leading a recruiting team of 6 or more recruiters
  • Experience defining and delivering complex recruiting strategies
  • Experience working with recruiting tools and systems, including resume databases, internet sourcing tools, and spreadsheets
  • Experience utilizing metrics and data to drive decision-making
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Organized and pragmatic; thrives in a results oriented environment
  • Skilled at partnering with hiring teams to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing approaches with an ability to manage customer / partner expectations through a deep understanding of ROI
  • Workforce planning experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience utilizing data and analytical skills to create, measure, and scale workflows to achieve accelerated hiring goals
  • A proven track record of influencing senior leaders on recruiting strategies
  • Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader and member
  • Meets / exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets / exceeds Amazon’s functional / technical depth and complexity for this role
