The Job Lead the design of a highly performant, available and secure database platform in an OEM environment Lead strategic initiatives such as database upgrades, resource pool tuning, etc Document and communicate database design from business requirements, and develop the data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for applications Profile database performance to identify bottlenecks in CPU capacity, memory capacity, disk IO capacity and network capacity Configure Vertica / Postgres cluster at the hardware, operating system and MPP level for maximum performance Lead capacity planning efforts to ensure that databases can handle ETL loads, dashboard reportd, and ad-
hoc analytics loads Work with architects, engineers and cross-functional teams on partitioning, segmentation, UDx, and query-
tuning Automate various DB administration jobs using scripts / tools Work with engineering and customer support teams for timely resolution of tickets Develop database monitoring and alerting capabilities What Skills You Bring Expected to very proficient in SQL and using analytic functions Expected to understand and apply system management, performance timing and troubleshooting techniques Has 5+ years of knowledge and experience in database technologies in at least one of PostgreSQL, Vertica Support remote teams and customers to help educate and resolve issues Additional assets : Familiarity with NoSQL technologies Knowledge of Pacemaker Experience with messaging systems(eg.
