This Facilities Maintenance Coordinator position will join our team in Kitimat to reports to the Temporary Facilities Lead.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following :
Plays an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
Develops manages and implements detailed plans for installation, maintenance and removal of site temporary facilities including construction trailers and tents.
Reviews and approves all safe work practices and work plans for temporary facility work.
Manages the standardization of maintenance, and installation techniques that are required in order to achieve cost reductions while maintaining levels of service.
Coordinates labour, materials and other resources to carry out construction activities in accordance with the IFC plans and specifications
Schedule and allocate required work to contractors to meet priorities
Coordinates with other site construction groups and manages any interface issues to support work as required
Ensures project priorities for safety, cost, quality and schedule are accurately conveyed to the Site Services Management Team
Coordinates with area authority for permitting requirements
Provides input to proposals relative to constructability. Evaluates the effectiveness of project constructability programs.
Updates project information and maintains project files tracking cost, schedule, and progress
Reports Daily activities, reviews and approves contractor daily reports and LEMS
Support the Site Wide Service department with all scopes of work as needed

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located and be able to interview on site.
Basic Job Requirements
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician or Journeyman Trade Certification and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent computer literacy and skills in MS Office Suite required
8 years of practical experience coordinating field construction projects
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing subcontractors
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position
Considerable experience in temporary facility installation, maintenance and removal, especially on Construction project sites
Thorough knowledge of BC Building Code, Technical Safety BC and WorkSafe BC requirements
Experience with construction, technical, and engineering activities on large scale projects.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of the concepts, methods, standards and practices of the construction industry.
