Due to a growing workload, Ecora is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering Group in the Southern BC Interior, based out of our Penticton office.

Ecora's Mechanical Engineering Team includes senior mechanical engineers with over 50 years of combined experience in the Okanagan and across Canada who are ready and able to mentor junior engineers.

We are seeking engineering professionals looking to further their careers in building systems and mechanical infrastructure such as water treatment systems.

Our projects include plumbing and HVAC designs for wineries, restaurants, micro-breweries, distilleries, offices, warehouses, swimming pools, hot tubs and multi-unit residential projects.

Ecora's Engineering Group has extensive experience with providing engineering services in support of infrastructure projects, commercial structures and residential subdivision construction.

We provide consulting services to Provincial and Federal government agencies, Municipalities, First Nation communities, as well as architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout the Interior of British Columbia.

The successful candidate's duties will include the coordination and preparation of design deliverables (such as drawings, specs, estimates, schedules, reports) for residential / commercial / industrial projects.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years Building Systems related work experience is required.

Must be registered, or eligible to register within six months, as a Professional Engineer in BC. Travel throughout British Columbia may be required in this position.

The successful candidate will possess the following :

  • Technical knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering relating to building design including HVAC, plumbing, storm & sanitary drainage, natural gas services, process piping, chiller / heating water systems
  • Understand local, provincial and national codes, regulations and guidelines that impact design and construction, including the BC Building Code, Fire Code, Gas Utilization Code and ASHRAE standards
  • Have a Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous project experience
  • The ability to be involved with multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic with the desire to excel and achieve
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Other Desirable Skills :

  • Knowledge of ACAD, REVIT MEP.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheets, load calculation programs and energy simulation programs.
