The Role

This position is responsible for working closely with the Analyst to ensure MCAP standards are followed and borrower needs are met in relation to a loan submission.

This position also promotes MCAP products to current and new customers, seeks new opportunities with borrowers and maintains client relationships.

This position is also responsible for coaching and providing direction to the Advisors and Analysts.

Manages a set of large borrowers (more complex transactions) with limited support from Managing Director

Identify and contact new borrowers in the market place and promote MCAP as an alternative to their existing lender

Contact borrower customers

Determine borrower financing needs

Structure a solution that meets the needs through MCAP’s investor base

Negotiate loan commitments

Creatively source additional fee revenue through borrowers to meet MCAP’s and investors’ needs

Manage a pool of strong personal relationships resulting in ongoing requests for loans

Promote MCAP products to potential borrowers

Identify and develop new client relationships

Educate new and current clients on MCAP products

Provide input into new product initiatives based on borrower needs

Direct Investor Contact

Source loan product which meets specific investor underwriting criteria

Source sufficient volumes of loan investment opportunities to meet desired funded loan targets for the investor

Meet with the investor as required to tour and visit properties and review the performance of their loan portfolio and service the investor’s requirements on a timely basis

Oversees structuring and preparation of loan submission

Accountable for the quality of loan underwriting prepared by analysts

Ensures timely, quality completion of term sheets and commitment letters

Prepares presentations as required

Presents deals to Investment Committee

Advises and negotiates with lawyers according to MCAP standards as required

Oversee the progress of a loan through all stages from inception to funding in order to ensure quality and timelines are met and a deal is retained

Seeks timely and effective loan approvals for borrowers

What You Bring To The Team


Minimum 2 years of construction lending experience

Skills / Knowledge

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Proven ability to foster relationships

Strong customer service skills.

Self-driven, motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Carries out duties with integrity and takes responsibility for actions.

Personal Automobile / Driver’s License

The employee will be required to use their personal automobile for regular business purposes


University Degree in Business preferred
