The Department of Medicine is Sunnybrook's largest department with 99 full-time and over 200 part-time faculty members. We have 15 divisions and work in an interdisciplinary environment with Sunnybrook's care programs and other departments.

Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association is currently seeking a Medical Billing Manager to provide best practices in revenue maximization for physicians across a wide range of specialty practices.

Job SummaryAs our Medical Billing Manager you will : *Spend the majority of your time reviewing medical records across many medical practices to ensure the correct diagnosis and procedure codes were assigned.

  • Review physician documentation and perform audits to determine accuracy and gaps .*Prepare reports on opportunities and best practices to improve revenue*Provide coding insights, education, and training examples to SDOMA physicians*Track, aggregate and summarize changing coding and billing rules that are approved.
  • We are looking for an experienced Manager who : * 5 or more years’ experience managing physician's OHIP billing strategy and plan, ideally across multiple specialties.

  • Digital / Computer skills - you must be comfortable working with computers and various types of software. Have an advanced knowledge of current OHIP billings codes and strategies.
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years’ billing management experience in an outpatient or inpatient environment.*Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Have deep understanding of billing guidelines, documentation requirements as well as familiarity with medications and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Bonus points if you have : *Experience performing revenue audits.*Conducted medical billing training to Physicians, Billing and Administrative staff.
