In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
Valid Interprovincial Certification in Plumbing. (Proof of certification must be submitted with your application).
Extensive experience in both the residential and commercial plumbing trade.
The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)
Knowledge of current methods and practices related to plumbing and utilities services, e.g. water supply, distribution, treatment systems, plumbing fixtures and accessories, sprinkler system and accessories.
Knowledge of safety procedures, codes, and regulations relevant to the trade.
Ability to read, interpret and analyse mechanical drawings.
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment relevant to the trade.
The following may be applied / assessed at a later date (may be needed for the job)
Valid certification as an Oil Burner Technician.
Ability to use computers (e.g. email, Word, Excel, Internet).
Exercises sound judgement.
Makes things happen.
Willingness to work shift-work, and / or weekends, and / or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.
Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required.
Willingness to take training and update licences and certificates as requested by the employer.
Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Security Clearance with credit check.
Maintenance of a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License, or other provincial equivalency.
