    We are looking for two (2) well-organized, experienced, full-time Accounting and Bookkeeping Managers to lead our bookkeeping teams and to work with clients.

    You are a passionate, self-starter who can work with limited direction.

    Your primary responsibilities will include :

    As a leader in our growing firm, you will collaborate with the partners and clients to resolve problems and execute strategies to help our clients succeed.

    You will be responsible to :

  • Lead a team of bookkeepers and technicians in the completion of client work.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and payroll processes for multiple engagements at once.
  • Supervise and manage the completion of department tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Manage, mentor, train and develop junior and senior staff.
  • Review the work of your direct team, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Manage client engagements in a team environment bookkeeping and advisory services to owner-managed businesses.
  • Manage project financials, including budgets, WIP, and timely billing.
  • Utilize strong time management skills to meet deadlines, deliver quality work, anticipate and resolve client issues in a timely manner.
  • Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service.
  • Generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm’s expertise and services, as well as developing ideas and solutions.
  • Providing complex bookkeeping assistance to clients, internally and externally, in various formats including QuickBooks, Sage / Simply Accounting, and CaseWare.
  • Processing backup support to team as required for bi-weekly / semi-monthly client payroll.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts as well financial and operating statements.
  • Preparation and filing of HST returns.
  • Manage the conversion and upgrade of client bookkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and taxation authorities (CRA) to complete all routine formalities from an accounting perspective.
  • Hours of Work : Full time hours Monday - Friday

  • Diploma in Accounting and / or Administration with emphasis on bookkeeping.
  • Professional designation is desired but not required.
  • 5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience in owner-managed businesses and private enterprises, preferably in a public accounting environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a progressive management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and client service skills.
  • A passion for learning and developing self and team members to the next level.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of MS office, CaseWare, Tax Prep, QuickBooks and QBO, Sage.
  • Ability to multitask, meet recurring deadlines and take ownership of assigned client work
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
