Position Description

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 40 years, we’re still growing! We have a career opportunity for a Senior Business Project Manager with previous banking / financial experience to work in CGI’s Banking Business unit.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Key attributes :

Dynamic, empowered individual, not afraid to ask questions and doesn’t accept status quo.

Drives project towards target date; check-box" PM will struggle with meeting business expectations

Maintains perspective of role; must represent business within over-all accountability. Can’t double as a 2nd tech PM and needs to push the business ask.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Status - Develop integrated status, with Technology & Operations, business and key stakeholder inputs, including executable plans to return to Green when required.

Must reflect over-all status, and not be limited to technology critical path. Raise blockers to program management quickly.

Risks / Issues - Manage project blockers via risk & issues management risks need to have clear response plans and issues must have executable action plans.

Raising a risk with no plan is not sufficient.)

Schedule management - milestone based tracking within integrated MPP, with support for detailed planning within the core team groups / leads.

Able to roll-up to roadmap / executive view. Uses work-backs / roadmaps to help demonstrate notional schedule where committed data is pending.

Decks; general ability to prepare 1 pager executive summaries and options / recommendations based on team’s inputs.

Facilitation can lead general meetings and step in to help reset when a team mate’s meeting deviates from agenda or due to conflict.

Business able to work with fluid, results orients business teams and provide over-sight and transparency without micro managing busy resources.

T&O understands SDLC process and able to ask key questions to identify risks or blockers that are deemed status-quo as per the SDLC process.

E.g. notional timelines at Epic or HLR level.

Stakeholder management able to connect with various groups (Call centers, Product Operations, Business LOB’s, Fraud, AML, product and process owners) and integrate key activities.

Holds leads accountable for delivery, without directly authority. (matrix organization)

Communications able to share progress at varying levels of impacts groups : project / core weekly status, weekly program updates and broader stakeholder management.

Given size of PDO, some PDO support skills would be a benefit :

Managing program level risks / issues

Integrated roadmap support

Update, maintain key artefacts such as Program Plans, SteerCo Decks, Business plans, etc.

Able to step in to support a crisis project or help work through an issue.

Help draft or review program minutes or scribe for program meetings.
