As a Graphic Designer you will be responsible for performing and overseeing the creative process for new and existing design initiatives across the company’s brand and customer portfolio.

This role leads design brief meetings and presents, pitches, and outlines design plans to effectively communicate design techniques with internal and external teams.

As a key member of the creative team, the Graphic Designer collaborates with leadership to promote and develop new design-related services and offerings that support the growth and profitability initiatives throughout the organization.

  • What you’ll do as a Graphic Designer :

  • Coordinate with creative personnel, marketing, and other graphic professionals to gather information and materials needed for design.
  • Illustrate established design concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy including arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
  • Assist with the coordination of photography, artwork, and printing.
  • Manipulate files to match customer requirements in Adobe CS.
  • Schedule creative briefs with clients to determine design requirements.
  • Prepare rough drafts and presents creative direction with clients.
  • Develop illustrations, logos, shapes, and other design elements.
  • Use the appropriate colors and layouts to make design projects appealing.
  • Leverage copywriting skills to ensure the final product appeals to the target audience and client.
  • Amend designs after customer feedback, ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Maintain status and progress of all orders to achieve production milestones and timelines, ensuring all tasks and projects are consistently completed on time and in accordance with objectives and requirements of all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales team and attends customer meetings regarding design and creative.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives with creative assets (SWAG, postcards, online, etc.).
  • Partner with creative team to build a creative portfolio to attract clients.
  • Advocate and champions new creative services, products, and offerings.
  • Build online presence / following on social media platforms to showcase creative portfolio.
  • Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, freelancers, printers, etc.
  • Establish item codes as needed.
  • Maintain artwork database and logs.
  • Manage PDF proofs and physical target approvals.
  • Attend customer press approvals, pilot press approvals, and first production runs as needed.
  • Assist with establishing design SOPs and best practices.
  • Provide back up support for the packaging team members.
  • Develop knowledge, skills, and abilities by participating in educational opportunities, attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, and attending industry trade shows.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the company and operational needs.
  • Things you will need to be successful :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 4+ years of work experience in graphic design, preferably in a studio or creative agency.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat).
  • Adobe After Effects and Motion Graphics experience beneficial, but not required.
  • Previous experience with pre-press, printing, and packaging beneficial.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness.
  • Strong, clear, and professional written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to target communications appropriately for the applicable audience.
  • Superior relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively, build trust, and partner with others to drive results.
  • Understands goals, key drivers, and needs of customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, successfully navigate ambiguity, and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, often unpredictable environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple projects and workload by planning and coordinating activities and identifying critical paths to the completion of projects and objectives on time and within budget.
  • Displays a proactive work ethic and is committed to seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Recognizes quickly when progress is stalling and takes immediate action to get back on track.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness and reacts with appropriate urgency to situations that require quick action or turnaround.
  • Proven technical knowledge and understanding of digital file formats (.pdf, .ai, .eps, .tiff).
  • Proven technical knowledge of CMYK and Pantone colors, including where and how they are used in printing.
  • Proven technical knowledge of different print processes (Flexo, Litho, Dry-Offset, Digital) and color separations.
  • Proven ability to develop new conceptual work with a keen eye for aesthetics and details and a strong portfolio of illustrations and other graphics.
  • Adapts well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
