We are looking for an Analyst to join our Product and Underwriting team. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Product & Underwriting and will support all phases of new and existing product research, design and implementation.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Support the Senior Analyst(s), Product & Underwriting with filings;
  • Maintain systems' rate file and Product manuals. Ensure changes are implemented correctly and in a timely manner;
  • Conduct demographic and other consumer research to understand the needs of consumers for product development initiatives at the direction of the Manager
  • Perform complex analyses using MS Excel, MS Access, Cognos, Pentaho, and Third-Party Software
  • Develop and maintain competitor databases for product features and underwriting criteria analyses
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of forms and policy wordings for associated products
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of the portfolio against the operational plan and reporting findings to the Manager
  • Complete reviews of competitive positioning on rates, rules, products and coverages
  • Support and direct the Product and Underwriting Initiatives :
  • Research, analyze, and present findings / recommendations at the sub-committee level
  • Prepare Stakeholder Communications.
  • Review regulatory reforms and provide direction to the sub-committee, branches and management
  • Provide subject matter expertise to TS projects on business and underwriting related subjects
  • Provide technical and business expertise to operations teams on complex underwriting and product specific issues
  • Review defects and enhancements in accordance with build requirements and facilitate system fixes
  • Seminar attendance at the Leader’s request.

  • Your ability to stay organized while under pressure is exceptional
  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • 3 years of Insurance Industry Experience
  • 3 years of underwriting decision-making experience
  • Actively pursuing or completed CIP / FCIP or CRM designations
  • Must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of Guidewire Policy Centre build requirements to support auto and property products
