Ministry Focus :

To provide vision, oversight and direction to our Family and Youth ministries

Part Time position : approximately 20 hours / week

Specific Responsibilities in the following areas :

  • Oversee ministries to children and teens in our church : Sunday school / Children's churchChildren’s midweek programYouth midweek program
  • Recruit, train and mobilize a team of volunteers to serve in each of these ministries
  • Develop an overall strategy with these leaders for outreach and discipleship of our youth
  • Develop and maintain personal contact with families with children and teens
  • Keep parents and congregation informed of all children’s and youth activities in the church
  • Act as an encourager and troubleshooter for volunteer staff in these group
  • Assist in Worship Services and other responsiblities as needed.
  • Encourage networking with CBOQ Youth and other youth groups in the area.
  • Qualifications

  • Must be a born-again Christian, in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must have a passion for seeing children and teens grow in their walk with God.
  • Must be in agreement with First Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith
  • Must conform to NT leadership qualities as outlined in 1 Timothy & Titus
  • Should have had some formal post-secondary training for Christian ministry (Bible College / Seminary), or working towards it.
  • Hands-on Experience in Youth Ministry, Evangelism or Discipleship Training in a church ministry setting
  • Ability to motivate people for ministry
  • Disciplined, well-organized, goal-oriented, self-confident
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural ministry environment
