We currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate / Senior Bridge Engineer in our Markham office. The successful candidate will have 8+ years of Ontario experience.

Position Description :
Working with a dynamic team in a collaborative work environment, the Intermediate / Senior Bridge Engineer will be based primarily out of Markham but will be expected to collaborate with our offices in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Kitchener.
The successful individual will be responsible for the leadership and management of projects across Ontario with a focus in the GTA markets.
Responsibilities include the following :
Project management of bridge related assignments
Engineering design, analysis and support, structural inspection, and reporting
Buildings, waterproof structures, and ancillary structures
Structures in support of our linear infrastructure requirements
Bridges, assessment, design, and rehabilitation
Project deliverables and preparation of contract documents
Proposal preparation and marketing
Business development and client engagement
Resident engineering services as required
Health & Safety Responsibilities :
Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures within a COR registered environment.
Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed.
Review and adhere to AE’s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures and policies.
Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
Participate in regular formal or informal workplace inspections.
Report all unsafe acts or conditions.
Respond or delegate responsibility immediately to items brought to his / her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.
In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural engineering from an accredited university
Registered as P.Eng in Ontario
8+ years of relevant bridge design and structural experience in Ontario
Demonstrated project management experience, considered an asset
Technical expertise in the design, rehabilitation, and construction of bridges
Strong knowledge of CHBDC, OSIM and MTO’s Structural Rehabilitation Manual
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in structural analysis software
Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
Demonstrated ability to effectively project manage bridge design and rehabilitation projects
tender packages specific to the GTA is considered an asset.
Committed team player and highly self-motivated
Proven ability to liaise and manage clients, contractors, and other consultants’ relationships.
Experience in business development and growth (in public sector) considered an asset.
Demonstrated prioritization, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel within Canada.
