The purchasing and inventory control coordinator is responsible to procure all inventory to appropriate levels in order to fulfill orders on a timely basis.
They are organized and diligent in ensuring the incoming inventory is received properly, and responsibly stored in the warehouse.
PIC is responsible to implement and follow procedures to ensure the production departments requiring tools and consumables are equipped with appropriate supplies.
$50,000-65,000 plus Benefits
Industry experience such as lighting, LED, Displays, would be a strong asset.
Responsibilities- Purchasing and inventory controller has key areas of responsibility :
Employ sound inventory control procedures to ensure adequate inventory levels to support production;
Responsive to the operations of the business in purchasing buy-to-order items and supporting needs of production facilities;
Perform cycle counts, plan cycle and year-end inventory count, in conjunction with the Controller;
Identify areas of risk with fast moving inventory, including implementing changes in processes, if needed, to avoid stock-outs;
Pro-actively identify any vendor or product issues and work with sourcing to identify alternative procurement paths;
Assist in the requirements provided to IT to improve the inventory control modules in the ERP;
Proactively analyze usage of inventory and propose procurement plans;
Understand new products, whether manufactured or stock items and how to control their procurement;
Total control over the inventory processes, including year-end inventory counts, periodic reporting and purchasing.
3 years of similar or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with purchasing responsibilities
College or University degree, diploma or certificate in accounting or related program;
MS Excel, MS Word, Email, accounting software experience;
Preference with EPICOR ERP system;
Understanding of internal controls over inventory and purchasing;
Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
