We are currently searching for an energetic, motivated HR Generalist to join our Team!

POSITION SCOPE :

Provide timely and professional Human Resources support to division(s), ensuring applicable legislation is adhered to. Assist in the development and maintenance of Human Resources programs, policies and procedures in accordance with Apollo Health & Beauty Care objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

  • Maintain and update employee files in electronic HRIS & databases, and hard copy and forward applicable information to Executives as necessary or required
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures as required
  • Actively identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as the HRIS super-user for the HR Department, including performing regular verification checks for accuracy and new user / employee set up on system
  • Conduct new hire feedback meetings and exit interviews with employees as required, generating and initiating corrective actions on items where improvement is noted and warranted
  • Update job descriptions and participate in performance evaluations as required
  • Assist with new hire set up including IT onboarding and the preparation, coordination and delivery of New Hire Orientation
  • Prepare materials and conduct various training programs to all employees and various levels within the organization as required, including AODA
  • Provide employees with benefits information and respond to benefits inquiries, and perform employee benefit enrollments
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine root causes for employee separations
  • Assist with wage and salary surveys and administration to ensure organizational competitiveness and legal compliance
  • Perform full cycle payroll, train approved users on site navigation, and perform all review employee timesheets for variances / incomplete data
  • Attend various meetings (e.g. Employee Meetings, Management Meetings) and prepare presentations and / or meeting minutes, conducting follow up on actionable items as required
  • Maintain the training database in audit-ready status, including performing regular gap analysis and timely follow up to ensure gaps are eliminated
  • Create and maintain all Departmental KPIs
  • Working with the Manager of Human Resources, assist with the administration of progressive discipline in a fair and consistent manner, and attend employee discipline meetings as required to ensure discipline is conducted in accordance with legislative and procedural guidelines
  • Provide support to the Health & Safety program including but not limited to the coordination of activities for the Joint Health & Safety Committee and update safety policies
  • Provide reception relief as required
  • Coordinate social events
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Manager of Human Resources or designate
  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

  • KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : 1-3 years’ experience required; post-secondary education required; professional designation accreditation in process;
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Employment Legislation required; previous compensation and payroll experience required;
  • proficiency with MS office applications

  • INTERPERSONAL SKILLS / CONTACTS : some access to confidential or sensitive information; regular internal interactions and / or occasional external interactions;
  • purpose of internal / external contacts is generally related to complex matters; occasional selling, negotiating, consulting, teaching / instructing, or advising;
