DEPARTMENT : PROJECT OFFICE
Responsible to the Director, Enterprise PMO and Analytics for creating and leading the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) practices to meet the business needs and ensure quality solutions that provide the greatest value to Home Hardware.
Develop and update program(s) / project(s)’ processes / standards for Project Managers.
Manage, coach, develop and enable an empowered collaborative team to fully understand and apply consistent best practices.
Collaborate and align with the Manager, EPMO Portfolio for the Enterprise Portfolio.
Actively participate in the complex program(s) and project(s).
Manage and develop Staff performance and create / support individual development plans.
Participate in continuous process improvement and ensure resources are focused on the highest value initiatives.
Build relationships and communicate to all levels of the organization with a focus on the senior executive level.
Manage relationships with external software, hardware or people resources.
Familiarity with Hardware / Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) Retail processes.
University / College degree in Information Technology or Business.
15+ years direct work experience in portfolio / program / project management, with 5+ years in a management role for a team of 15+ project managers and contractors.
Excellent interpersonal, people management skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Proven ability to be a solutions-oriented decision maker.
Demonstrates ability to be flexible, to prioritize and be able to respond to multiple competing demands.
Result-oriented with a focus on quality. Creative thinker with the ability to see the big picture.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal, and the ability to present difficult concepts in understandable terms to all levels in the organization.
Strong business acumen and awareness of technical trends. Ability to balance risk, cost and benefit.
Customer service orientation required.
PMP and / or PRINCE2 designation would be an asset.
Proven experience with waterfall, iterative waterfall, and agile scrum project execution would be an asset.
Ability to work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
