As part of the Human Resources team, this HR Advisor is responsible for providing a full range of HR Generalist support to the assigned AgeCare Communities in Brooks and Medicine Hat.

This role will appeal to an experienced HR Generalist who has a solid understanding of employee engagement practices, effective performance management, employee / labour relations, and general compensation practices.

  • Support change management through coaching and advocacy for assigned portfolio
  • The successful candidate will be required to reside in either Brooks or Medicine Hat
  • Provide effective issue resolution with the engagement of expert internal resources as required
  • Create leadership capacity as a human resource educator and advisor to management and staff
  • Manage risk by assessing workforce metrics and trends
  • Support and mentor site management and staff in employee engagement programs, HR policy and operational standards, employee and labour relations, workforce planning, and HR administration
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role dealing with offsite management and staff
  • Experience in Long Term Care / Assisted Living / union environments an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment and related legislation
  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources or other relevant program
  • Valid driver license for regular travel between Medicine Hat and Brooks
