The Shipper / Receiver in our Edmonton Valve Shop warehouse will be responsible for the efficient operation of the warehousing and shipping functions.

Primary responsibilities encompass inventory control, shipping, receiving, picking for production and improving warehouse efficiencies.

This is a full-time position that will report to the Shipping / Receiving Coordinator.

Responsibilities :

  • Daily shipping and receiving of all parts, assemblies and finished products. This includes daily communications with internal and external customers.
  • Prepares product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving shipping problems when necessary.
  • Stores product by designating storage locations, optimizing storage areas, and updating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in a timely manner.
  • Complete detailed shipping / receiving documentation as required.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts as required and ensuring inventory control within the warehouse.
  • Preparation of shipping and customs documentation to support Sales and Service departments.
  • Scheduling of transportation as required to complete customer orders.
  • Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with Health and Safety regulations. Ensure optimal storage and handling requirements are followed, damages are minimized, and errors inherent in warehouse operations are controlled.
  • Upgrade and manage the warehouse processes to optimize movement and storage of materials
  • Occasional delivery of shipments to freight terminals using company provided vehicle.
  • Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in warehousing with an interest in overall inventory management
  • Forklift and Narrow Aisle Reach Truck experience require
  • 2+ years ERP or inventory management system experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • International shipping considered an asset
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act as well as all related governing legislation
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are a must
  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and be able to prioritize accordingly
  • This position is for a rotating shift of 8am-5pm Mon-Fri and 10am 7pm Mon-Fri and is subject to change as business requires
  • On-call requirement, on a scheduled rotation basis
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and motivated to succeed
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and Drivers Abstract
