Job Description :
As an Oracle DBA within Data Management Services (DMS), your primary role will be as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting Canadian and US requirements.
We are looking for candidates with 3+ years of strong Oracle, PostgreSQL, Security and Optim experience.
What will you do?
Support a wide range of distributed and mainframe applications
Rotational on-call duties 7x24, including after-hour change and disaster recovery support (will require cell phone, laptop and guaranteed coverage from home)
Understand database architectures that supports business requirements
Define and execute on proof of concept initiatives
Lead / involvement in small and medium size infrastructure projects, and participate in projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, and define, manage and track project deliverables using defined technologies
What do you need to succeed?
Practical experience with current versions of Oracle Database
Knowledge of Operating System AIX, Linux and Windows including Unix scripting
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager or GRID Control, RMAN backup and recovery strategies
Knowledge of Oracle replication, mirroring, log shipping, maintenance plans and DR recovery strategies
Experience with and Embarcadero DBArtisan and Veritas clustering software
Strong PLSQL skills that include a thorough understanding of system tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL tuning
Practical experience with database upgrade, database cloning, platform migration, installations and patching, monitoring and tuning using native Oracle or other third-party tools
Strong understanding of database and data security principles and in particular Guardium Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), Guardium Data Encryption (GDE) and
Vulnerability Assessment (VA) infrastructure
Strong understanding of security frameworks, tools and methodologies
Strong understanding of functions and features of a major DBMS (Oracle DB, MS SQL Server etc.)
PostgreSQL Database experience supporting databases
Knowledge and hands-on experience with REPMGR, BARMAN and PG BOUNCER
Experience with PostgreSQL database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, installation, patching, upgrading plus backup & recovery
Knowledge of PostgreSQL Database (11 and 12)
Experience in upgrading and migrating various versions of PostgreSQL database on different platforms
Experience in implementing and monitoring replication for high availability and disaster recovery scenarios

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
