Sales Operations Analyst
SVB has served the Canadian market on a cross-border basis since 2000 via its US operations, supporting leading technology, life science and venture capital firms.
In early 2019, SVB Canada was officially launched after being granted a lending license and has in two years grown to more than 30 team members with a presence in Toronto (HQ) and Vancouver.

While data has been integral to SVB’s growth since inception, we’re placing an even greater emphasis on being a data-driven organization.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Canadian team of Silicon Valley Bank in Toronto and be part of a team building the Canadian business.
As a Sales Operations Analyst, you will :
Play a leadership role : define, implement, and manage core processes within the Canadian Sales Operations function.
Conduct deep quantitative analysis : apply deep analytical skills to the innovation ecosystem, including both private and public companies across technology, life science, venture capital and private equity.
Leverage multiple incomplete data sets to triangulate key trends and outputs.
Lead client prospecting : research and profile targeted companies, build predictive models, and provide recommendations to the Sales team on which companies they should be speaking to and when.
Identify growth opportunities : analyze existing client portfolios and identify opportunities for growth, including natural cross-selling opportunities.
Lead performance tracking : develop and own performance reporting and tracking of team performance and key metrics, including client acquisition, pipeline management, and product penetration.
Become a market intel expert and thought leader : conduct extensive market research to provide actionable recommendations as it relates to investor, client and competitive trends and analysis.
Lead ac hoc reporting : collaborate with cross-functional teams in Canada and the US to ensure effective insight into the performance and health of the Canadian business.
We are looking for someone with :
An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the innovation space.
Deep analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to digest and structure large quantities of data and provide sound recommendations on prospects, opportunities for growth, and other key trends.
An ability to build and maintain complex data models to inform the growth opportunities for the Canadian market.
An aptitude for framing business questions in analytical terms and translating business requirements into useful datasets and analyses with actionable insights.
Strong initiative, ownership, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage concurrent workstreams, timelines, and stakeholders.
Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written.
A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years experience.
Nice to have or willingness to learn :
Experience using and developing reports, metrics and dashboards with data analytics and presentation tools (, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau).
Ability to present complex concepts to senior leaders in an effective and compelling way.
Experience in venture capital or management consulting is considered an asset.
Experience in the financial services (banking) industry is considered an asset.
