    IBI Group’s Toronto office is searching for a Tier 1 / Tier 1.5 Support Specialist to join their Intelligent Transportation Systems support team.

    This individual will help provide support for clients around the globe providing first level support, monitoring of servers, databases and applications, and working with IT staff to help resolve client issues.

    Maintenance of servers and network infrastructures are also required. A+, Network+, MCP, MCSE certifications are desired, but not mandatory.

    The successful candidate will have a passion for all things technology, an innate curiosity to just 'figure things out' and drive to provide strong customer service.

    Most of the things you'll work on :

  • Provide first level support for our ITS clients on both Systems and Network related issues.
  • Responsible for maintenance, repairs and installations related to Windows, VM environment, and other software and hardware related issues.
  • Assist clients experiencing operational, hardware, or network connectivity problems with their systems and provide basic support for our software applications
  • Perform upgrades, repairs and preventive maintenance on servers, networks and other equipment
  • Undertake routine server and database backups
  • Assist in the installations and configuration of our ITS applications
  • Verify data integrity of backup and restore systems
  • Update knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology
  • Provide first level support on network and security equipment, Cisco switches, Sonicwall firewall, etc for internal and client projects
  • Provide feedback to Systems IT and development staff on issues and practical advice
  • Qualifications

    You'll need to have :

  • 2 years of professional IT experience with strong experience in both systems and networking support
  • A college diploma or University degree in the field of computer science
  • Must Have : Advanced knowledge in server hardware, workstations, network equipment, Windows O / S (Server and Workstation), VM Environments.
  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL, and MYSQL Databases is an asset.

  • Excellent understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and hardware
  • Working experience of network concepts, including LAN / WAN infrastructure and TCP / IP routing
  • Some experience in Cisco switches and firewalls is an asset
  • A+ or Microsoft Certified is also an asset
  • Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to multi-task and be flexible to take on varied responsibilities
  • Able to demonstrate patience, tact, and respect
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good customer service, detail and follow-up skills required
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • On-Call shift work required
