POSITION SUMMARY : The Quoting Coordinator / Parts Technician is responsible for quoting across all locations, exceptional inventory management and customer service.
This will be accomplished by responding to customer inquiries, problem resolution, coordinating shipping and scheduling, providing technical solutions as well as selling and offering pricing for non-standard products.
Successful candidate may be located and work from our Grande Prairie or Edson branch.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrated competence of the services, equipment, and value offered by Surepoint’s mechanical services and compression solutions.
Provides proposal data, generates proposals, and responds to the other administrative needs generated by orders, returns, contracts, and shipments.
Establishes relationships and effective communication with sales, operations, and support personnel throughout the organization.
Reviews customer requests for quotes and determines the best value solution to align with customers operating conditions, application, and timeline while working closely with the sales and operations teams.
Receives and processes internal and external customer requests for parts, materials, supplies and services.
Compiles and maintains information and records required to prepare purchase orders, including material records, prices, inventory and delivery records.
Leverages technical knowledge of gas compression and experience in parts management and coordination.
Reviews intercompany inventories to fulfill orders internally where possible.
Understands supply chain best practices and principles in accordance with procurement and materials management.
Makes substitution recommendations where savings in cost or better delivery can be obtained.
Works closely with sales and operations and provides follow-up on orders and timelines.
Maintains customer information database; enters / tracks internal requisition for parts transfers.
Prepares AMS parts sales orders.
Receives and resolves customer complaints and pricing discrepancies.
Develops, maintains and builds positive professional relationships with external and internal customers.
Understands warranty terms consistent with product.
Actively participates in the Safety Program.
Required Skills, Tools or Competencies :
Ethics / Values / Integrity
Must have knowledge of Waukesha and Caterpillar engine overhauls
Significant experience with parts inventory management
Computer skills; including inventory software, order processing systems, MS Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains-ERP
Technical knowledge of gas compression (engines and compressors)
Experience with business-to-business sales is an asset (inside or outside sales)
Experience creating competitive bid documentation
Demonstrates professionalism, initiative and produces a commitment to quality
Preferred Education / Experience :
High school diploma or experience equivalent
Journeyman Parts Person Certification is an asset.
Physical Strain :
Travel may be required
Must be able to work under pressure
