Job Description : Restaurant managers ensure that restaurants operate efficiently and profitably while maintaining their reputation and ethos.

They must coordinate a variety of activities, whatever the size or type of the outlet; and are responsible for the business performance, quality standards and health and safety of the restaurant.

Necessary Skills and Experience : Typical job responsibilities include :

  • recruiting, training and supervising staff.
  • agreeing and managing budgets.
  • planning menus.
  • ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation / guidelines.
  • promoting and marketing the business.
  • overseeing stock levels.
  • ordering supplies.
  • producing staff rotas.
  • Duties : They are responsible for the smooth operations of a restaurant, which may involve delegating tasks and covering for absent employees.

    Restaurant managers need to be good at multitasking and innovative problem solvers.
