Long Term Care works within a multidisciplinary team environment to provide excellent resident centered care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer disease or other dementias.
Drumheller is located 135 km from Calgary and 160 km from Red Deer, with a population of 8,029 and is located in the valley of the Alberta Badlands.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA) - Nursing Attendant, you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-
term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.
You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications :
Must meet one of the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health Care Aide (HCA) competency requirements : Certified - certified as a Health Care Aide through a Government of Alberta licensed post-
secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum. Evidence required upon hire; orSubstantially Equivalent -
orDeemed Competent - assessed as competent by an Alberta regulated nurse, using the Provincial Competency Assessment Profile Tool.
Evidence required upon hire; or candidate would be required to register for a HCA course from a Government of Alberta licensed post-
secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum within 155 hours or 6 weeks (whichever comes first), and successfully complete the course within 12 month timeline from date of hire.
