  • Vancouver Island Victoria, Nanaimo
  • Interior Region Kamloops, Kelowna
  • This community based position involves Home Assessments to determine equipment, home support and attendant care needs and Cognitive Rehabilitation to increase client independence in home and community settings.

    Graduated activity programs to increase physical tolerances or facilitate Community Integration also form a part of this role.

    Working with funders including health authorities, insurers and government agencies, this position requires OTs to utilize Rehabilitation Case Management to facilitate client access to appropriate health services.

    Primary health populations include Brain Injury (TBI & Stroke), Complex Orthopedics and General Medical. Experience working with individuals affected by brain injury (stroke, TBI) or other neurological disabilities is required.

    QUALIFICATION

  • Clinical work experience required
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; strong negotiation skills
  • Experience working with insurance fee payers (WorkSafeBC, ICBC etc) is an asset
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplinary team as required
  • Commitment to continuous learning through professional development courses
  • Current member of COTBC or registration pending
