As a full-time Occupational Therapist within our CBI Health Centre, you will be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, kinesiologists, and physiotherapists, and work both in a clinic environment and in the community.

Your role will be to assist clients in returning to the workplace and successfully and sustainably resume activities of daily living in order to improve their overall function and quality of life.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will :

  • Return daily living / return to work facilitation
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy and CBT
  • Activity planning, lifestyle management, routine structuring / goal setting
  • Integration of clients into community
  • Perform on-site job coaching
  • Facilitate work site visits and return to work meetings
  • Facilitate group education sessions
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes
  • Provide assessment and treatment to a wide variety of clients with varying needs, including those with chronic and / or mental health conditions
  • Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
  • Record workload measurement data
  • Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
  • Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required

    As an Occupational Therapist at CBI, you must be :

  • Registered as a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Dedicated to providing the highest quality of client care
  • Able to exercise strong skills in critical thinking, decision-making and analysis
  • Effective with time management and have strong organizational skills to be able to work independently
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Proficient in professional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Empathetic with an effective ability to build rapport with patients
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team, and to facilitate our clients’ needs by exceeding their goals.
  • Strong clinical skills in one or more of the following is an asset : complex physical and psychological injury, including persistent pain, psychological trauma, mental health, or vocational rehabilitation.
