Position We require an EARLY INTERVENTIONIST / RESOURCE TEACHER to join our professional team of early childhood educators to work with children children ages 2-12 years old.

Reporting to the Executive Director , Early Intervention, is responsible for promoting the development, participation and inclusion of children within the Child care centre through education, planning, developing and implementing support plans for Preschool, Kindergarten and School age children with a range of behavioral and special needsThis EARLY INTERVENTIONIST / RESOURCE TEACHER MUST poses the following qualities : * Excellent hands on skills and able to role model approaches *Passionate to provide quality Child Care Sharp / On the ball *Keen knowledge of Behaviour management *Have excellent Classroom management skills *Have excellent behaviour management skills *Can work effectively with team members *Can independently make proper rapport with families *Bubbly, Energetic, Sense of humor*Can properly plan ahead *Stellar Documentation / Observation Skills *Dedicated to quality care* Able to successful implement all requirements of AQI and CCEYA effectively in the Program *Able to communicate effectively / professionally verbally and written

  • Stellar IPP and Family Service Plan creating skills *Demonstrated abilities in the screening / assessment of child and family needs, documentation of individualized goal plans with strategies, as well as in case management and active service coordination
  • Demonstrated ability for program planning to address specific issues The Early Childhood Educator is responsible to provide a safe, caring and developmentally appropriate early learning environment for a class of children ranging from 24 months to twelve (12) years.
  • The incumbent will use Centre philosophy, programs and policies to maintain and enhance the Centre's reputation for excellence.

    We are an inclusive centre and this position may be responsible to work with children with special needs. This role requires a team oriented approach to work complemented by strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to form collaborative relationships with children, families, peers and community resources.

  • Terms : Hours depending on the needs of the Centre
  • Salary : $24.00- $26.00

  • Candidates MUST have the following :

  • Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated proficiency in child care standards of practice in a licensed child care setting
  • At Least 4 consecutive years working with children with high behavioral needs
  • Resources Consultant Certificate / Special needs Certificates
  • ECE - Completion of a diploma program in Early Childhood Education
  • In good standing with the college of ECE's
  • MUST have great Knowledge of the AQI and CCEYA
  • Above average ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal / written)
  • Anticipates and is responsive and responsible to address issues and concerns at work
  • Flexible, patient, professional, prompt and reliable attendance at work
  • Creative, enthusiastic, neat and appropriate personal appearance and attire
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Promotes ethical practices of the CCEYA and AQI
